Timetable

For 1 academic year from 8.55 am to 3.25 pm

Breaks  at 10.55 to 11.15, at 1.15 to 1.55 or at 1.55 to 2.25

key stage 3 - 4 lessons a day, key stage 4 - 5-6 lessons a day, sixth form- 5-6 lessons a day in a 2- week- timetable - week A and B, lessons takes 60 minutes

Assessment

once a fortnight written homework

recommended reading list of literature

certificates every term

last tests in June- July

special evaluation during a lesson - written by a teacher on the board (later the students will be honoured in a special raffle)

Classrooms

28- 30 students

facilities and equipment comparable to Czech secondary schools

overhead projectosr, notebooks, screens, smartboards a lot of shelves, bookcases, walls are full of posters and billboards, carpets are in the corridors and classrooms

School buildings

large playgrounds around the school

gym, library, computer lab, printing corner for students, labs, cinema, assembly room, school canteen, toilets are "open" in one place for girls and one for boys, school tea bar, receptionist, school room for a nurse, lockers for students

Chemistry of the class

-   students call the teacher Miss, Mrs, Mr

-   students wear school uniforms (except of sixth form)

-  students don´t change shoes

-  students don´t carry any books and exercise books, writing things are on desks in a box in the classroom

   (pens, pencils, glues, scissors and rubbers)

-  all necessary things  are in classrooms in special boxes

-  students sit in the classroom at the desks (in shape U, L and O) on chairs

-  at the beginning of a lesson a teacher registers the present students into a class electronic book

-  teachers use a computer and a screen, stand, go around the class and sometimes speak to students face to

   face (verbal feedback stamps)

-  school canteen provides hot and cold snacks, drinks (low- sugar), biscuits, fruit -

   (apples, bananas, tangerines and oranges) 

-  students sort out only paper

-  each teacher has his/ her own classroom with a table, chair, computer, billboard

-  students move to teachers´classrooms

-  the position of a classroom teacher doesn´t exist, it is replaced by teachers at colleges

-  students can use mobile phones for work, they can listen to music with headphones when they work on their  

    own

-   students raise hands when they want to speak

-  students are assessed during the lesson with positive and negative emoticons

-  good behavior is expected, bothering is strictly prohibited

-  students respect school rules properly and work actively

-  students can drink during lessons

-  afterschool activities (sport, music, sometimes must be paid)

-  school uniforms and books, all things needed are free and paid by school)

-  supervising is provided like in a Czech school (to keep students safe)
