Úspěšné završení projektu My Home is Europe

Již třetím rokem plníme úkoly v rámci realizace projektu Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Learning Initiatives pro střední školy v oblasti kurikulární. V hodinách cizích jazyků, biologie, zeměpisu, občanské výchovy a základů společenských věd se učíme o historii a fungování Evropské unie. Osvojujeme si také odbornou slovní zásobu v hodinách angličtiny, španělštiny a němčiny, pracujeme na různorodých projektech a studenti připravují prezentace zaměřené na kulturu, historii, jazyk i typické rysy jednotlivých zemí EU.

V oblasti mimoškolních aktivit pracovali studenti v Kroužku přátel Evropy, přivítali řadu hostů, se kterými diskutovali o současných tématech Evropské unie, Brexitu, a zúčastnili se také workshopu finského jazyka.

Vrcholem každého roku našeho programu je studijní pobyt v Lucemburku pro deset studentů, kteří úspěšně projdou výběrovým řízením stanoveným vedením školy.

Ve dnech 4.–8. května 2026 nás na letištní ploše přivítal trochu zamračený a chladný Lucemburk. Ani nepříznivé počasí nás však neodradilo od příjemných procházek starou částí města, okolím historických hradeb a kasemat, křivolakými uličkami a malebnými náměstími s palácem lucemburského velkovévody.

Hlavním cílem naší cesty bylo seznámit se s některými institucemi Evropské unie v Lucemburku a setkat se s významnými českými představiteli těchto institucí. Inspirativní a velmi srdečné bylo přijetí pana Jana Passera u Soudního dvora EU, pana Jana Gregora a paní Jany Olšakovské na Evropském účetním dvoře a pana Filipa Širokého v instituci EPPO - Úřad veřejného evropského žalobce. Evropský parlament byl poslední zastávkou po unijních institucích.

Velmi cennou zkušeností bylo také strávit celé dopoledne v Evropské škole. Pro studenty z České republiky je mimořádnou příležitostí setkat se se studenty a vyučujícími ze všech koutů Evropské unie, stát se na chvíli součástí výuky a prohlédnout si moderně vybavenou školu. To vše díky paní Daně Zajíčkové.

Nyní nás čekají úkoly spojené se zpracováním informací, fotografií a videomateriálů z našeho pobytu tak, aby je bylo možné představit studentům a učitelům školy, rodičům i široké veřejnosti. Hlavním cílem projektu je šířit znalosti o Evropské unii a připomínat, že v dnešní dynamické a náročné době je spolupráce a členství v evropském společenství mimořádně důležité.

For the third year now, we have been carrying out tasks within the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Learning Initiatives project for secondary schools in the field of curriculum development. In lessons such as foreign languages, biology, geography, civics, and social sciences, we learn about the history and functioning of the European Union. We also acquire specialized vocabulary in English, Spanish, and German classes, work on a variety of projects, and students prepare presentations focused on the culture, history, language, and typical characteristics of individual EU countries.

As part of extracurricular activities, students participated in the Europe Friends Club, welcomed a number of guests with whom they discussed current topics concerning the European Union and Brexit, and also took part in a Finnish language workshop.

The highlight of each year of our program is a study trip to Luxembourg for ten students who successfully pass the selection process established by the school management.

From 4–8 May 2026, we were welcomed on the airport tarmac by a somewhat gloomy and chilly Luxembourg. However, the unfavorable weather did not discourage us from enjoying pleasant walks through the old town, around the historic fortifications and casemates, along winding streets, and across picturesque squares featuring the palace of the Grand Duke of Luxembourg.

The main goal of our trip was to become acquainted with several European Union institutions in Luxembourg and to meet prominent Czech representatives working within these institutions. We received inspiring and very warm welcomes from Mr. Jan Passer at the Court of Justice of the European Union, Mr. Jan Gregor and Ms. Jana Olšakovská at the European Court of Auditors, and Mr. Filip Široký at the EPPO – the European Public Prosecutor’s Office. The European Parliament was the final stop on our tour of EU institutions.

Another highly valuable experience was spending an entire morning at the European School. For students from the Czech Republic, it is an exceptional opportunity to meet students and teachers from all corners of the European Union, become part of the lessons for a while, and explore a modern, well-equipped school. All this was made possible thanks to Ms. Dana Zajíčková.

We are now facing tasks connected with processing the information, photographs, and video materials from our stay so that they can be presented to students and teachers of our school, parents, and the wider public. The main aim of the project is to spread knowledge about the European Union and to remind people that, in today’s dynamic and demanding times, cooperation and membership in the European community are extremely important.
