Jean Monnet project and its publicity

The project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet „My Home is Europe“ has entered to its second school year 2024-2025. We have been more experienced in different curriculum, extra curriculum and public activities. We have organized more than one hundred interesting lessons, meetings and presentations to know more about The European Union.

The project team at school follows the plan of activities of various inputs and outputs to attract the area of European cooperation and EU projects. The project task also covers information about this topic to the public which means to our students parents and wide public of Žďár nad Sazavou, citizens of villages and towns nearby.

The project team has decided to present our topic in a different way the first school term.

The first meeting with the public was on 7 November 2024 during „Open Day“ and The Festival of Education in the Highlands region.The second "Open Day" was on 15 January. The project managers with 14 students guided more than one hundred visitors, children, parents, grandparents and teachers from primary schools around our school and talked about the aims and results of the project My Home is Europe. There are three billboards with information about the EU, our project and its activities, there is also  the plaquet from The European Commission which informs the name and dates of the project on three floors. Younger students made a EU poster as well which is exhibited on the 3rd floor next to the EU billboards with the information about our project. What was more during the Open Day? We could show the Oktava students short videos who they had recorded in English lessons and in their free time.

Students who visited EU institutions and the European school Luxembourg II in May 2024 presented the project to parents of sexta and 2 B on 13 November and during the second "Open Day" on 15 January to the students of septima class and visitors. The aim of this meeting was to inform students parents about our project and its climax - the excursion abroad. The students also explained how they had been chosen for this trip.

The main aim of our project Erasmus+ Jean Monnet is to widespread the awarness of the importance of being the members of European Union, to get and give more information about Europe and languages, culture and interesting places, to know the institutional systém of the European Union and the wide range of activities which The EU does to live in a safer and economically more prosperous continent where each country has its own important position.
